Oberwerth + Leica Store SF: Smooth, Solid Upgrade

I picked up the Oberwerth Colorado Camera Shoulder Strap (Black/Red, Medium) from Leica Store San Francisco, and it’s exactly what I want a strap to be: simple, solid, and built to disappear when I’m working. The order process with Leica Store San Francisco was smooth and straightforward, and the strap arrived quickly and well packed.

I especially love the red accents. They give my Leica Q2 Monochrom a unique personality while still feeling very much like a Leica—nothing loud or gimmicky, just a subtle hit of color that works.

The leather quality is excellent right out of the box—substantial but not stiff—and it’s already starting to mold to my shoulder. The Medium length is spot-on for me as a cross-body strap, keeping the camera high enough to feel secure but low enough that it doesn’t jam into my ribs when I’m walking or shooting.

Most importantly, it does the job without drama: no slipping, no digging into my neck, and no cheap hardware to worry about. It feels like a long-term piece of kit, not an experiment. If you’re looking for a comfortable, understated, premium strap, this one earns five stars from me.
