Brand Leica System Leica SL

The Leica Summilux-SL 50mm f/1.4 ASPH was the first SL prime, and it remains a benchmark fast standard lens for the system. An 11-element autofocus design with two aspherical elements and four anomalous-partial-dispersion elements delivers exceptional sharpness with soft bokeh and strong subject separation at f/1.4.

If you want the classic 50mm look with autofocus on L-Mount, this is the prime we recommend first. Come see its rendering wide open on an SL body, and our team will help you build out the kit.

The First SL Prime

As the first prime lens for the SL-System, the Summilux-SL 50 set the optical standard for the family. Its bright f/1.4 aperture is a true working aperture, giving you low-light capability and shallow depth of field with confidence.

Reference Optical Quality

An 11-element, 9-group design uses two aspherical elements (four aspherical surfaces) and four anomalous-partial-dispersion elements to correct chromatic aberration, producing maximum sharpness with soft bokeh and uniform contrast across the focusing range.

Fast, Quiet Autofocus

Motorized internal focusing keeps the overall lens length unchanged and delivers quick, near-silent autofocus, so the lens stays responsive whether you're shooting portraits or working discreetly.

Built to Endure

The all-metal housing is sealed against dust and splashes of water, and a Leica Aqua-Dura coating protects the outer glass from dirt and scratches. Advanced multilayer coatings and a rectangular hood suppress reflections and stray light.
