The Reference Standard 50mm

The Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH is widely regarded as the benchmark fast standard lens for the M system. Its 8-element, 5-group optical design with one aspherical surface delivers outstanding contrast and resolution from the center to the edges, even at maximum aperture.

Beautifully Rounded Bokeh

An 11-blade click-stop diaphragm keeps the aperture opening rounder as you stop down, producing the smooth, natural background rendering the Summilux is known for. Half-stop lock settings give you precise exposure control.

Focus Closer Than Ever

A specially developed double-cam gear unit extends close focusing to 0.45 m. The rangefinder couples down to 0.7 m, and the 0.7-0.45 m range can be composed via Live View, the Visoflex, or the Leica FOTOS app.

A Finish to Be Seen

The silver chrome finish is a classic, hard-wearing treatment that complements silver M bodies and stands as an object of desire in its own right. Hand-built in Germany to the same optical standard as every Summilux.
