A Faithful Classic Reissue

This lens reincarnates the classic screw-mount Summaron 28mm f/5.6 produced at Leitz Wetzlar from 1955 to 1963, with the original optical design left unchanged and a modern Leica M bayonet with 6-bit coding added.

Leica's Most Compact M Lens

At an overall length under 2 cm (about 3/4 in.), it is Leica's most compact M lens to date, all but disappearing on the camera for the ultimate in discreet, everyday carry.

Analog Character

A 6-element, 4-group design combines large depth of field, natural contrast, excellent detail, and visible vignetting to give images a distinctly analog look. A clear, red depth-of-field scale and long focus throw make precise zone focusing easy.

Hand-Made in Germany

The lens is assembled by hand from top-quality materials and finished in silver chrome, and it ships with a clip-on metal hood recreated to match the original, machined from solid brass. Each one is a special-order item.
