From the Pacific Ocean, on the beaches of Tijuana, to the mouth of the Rio Grande, in the Gulf of Mexico, there are 3,180 kilometers of diversity not only of the border line but of passage, culture, aesthetics, ways of living together, origins and customs . This is because people from all over Mexico and different countries migrate to this area, either temporarily or to enrich this plurality.

There are also multiple ways of approaching this bordering universe, which is why there have been many journalistic, artistic or academic explanations that have sometimes stereotyped it.

As in all of Mata Rosas' projects, curiosity and his wanderer's drive led him to travel through it for several years. Like a travel notebook, he was collecting experiences in the form of images, the cameras were the blank sheets where he wrote his experiences, sketched his feelings and settled his doubts.

The more he traveled through this area, the more questions arose. However, with these pages he does not intend to answer any of them, rather he seeks to share what he saw, heard, smelled, his moments of uncertainty, joy, sadness, fear and helplessness.

In a transversal way we have the line as a limit, as a beginning and an end, that is why these pages also show violence, social inequality, hope, solidarity and the desire for a better life of the majority of people with disabilities. who talked and who looked in the eyes.

Part of this mosaic of notes are the objects, the particular aesthetic generated by coexistence with the gringos, the countless mixtures of all kinds and the evidence of cultural resistance that, as a provocation, invites the reader to tour the area with the author.

He never had the intention of constructing a story about the border, but now he realizes that he constructed part of his story, that he explored its limits, its transgression and what this means.

The border is constantly changing, as is the way of reading this book.
