Constant f/2.8 Telephoto Power

A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture across the full 70-200mm range means consistent exposure and reliable subject separation whether you're at 70mm for portraits or 200mm for sports and wildlife. It's the versatile telephoto every SL system deserves.

Reference-Grade Optics

Twenty elements in fifteen groups — three with aspherical surfaces and seven with low refractive index and high anomalous partial dispersion — combine for razor-sharp, high-contrast images with excellent color fidelity across the zoom range.

Built to Work

Integrated optical image stabilization expands your handheld possibilities, while internal focusing keeps the lens a constant length. A magnesium and aluminum full-metal housing with dust and splash-water protection is ready for demanding conditions, and an included tripod clamp protects the camera bayonet under load.

Part of the f/2.8 Trinity

Together with the Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14-24mm and Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm, this lens completes Leica's constant-f/2.8 zoom trinity covering 14-200mm. Add the optional Leica Extender L 1.4x or 2.0x to reach 280mm or 400mm.
